Welcome to the new Web Site for The Rotary Club of St. Louis County
By admin | March 8, 2008
In order to make it easier for multiple people to keep the web site up to date with current and relevant information, I have redesigned the web site. It will function as both a web site, where “static” always the same pages are listed across the top, as well as a blog (web log) type site for site administrators to post new and relevant information.
Features:
Notification: As of right now, every email address of the current membership is part of the notification list. When a site administrator makes a new post, they can choose the option to notify Subscribers. You can have your name removed from this list at any time by unsubscribing via the link in the email, or just by asking one of the site administrators. New people can ask to be notified by adding themselves to the list on the home page on the right hand side.
Categories: As posts are made to the web site by site administrators, they will usually be categorized. For instance, we will have categories for programs, fund raisers, social events, etc. If you click on a category, it will open a page with a list of all the related posts with that tag.
Event Calendar: On the right hand side you will notice an event calendar, which also displays the next five events. If you click on the link to display all events, it will take you to a page to show all upcoming events. Site administrators can add events by making a post, adding an event tag, setting the date and times, and then publishing the post.
Contact Us: There is a “Contact us” page link near the top center that will take a site visitor to the contact form for them to complete and submit.
Discussion: An ongoing discussion can take place on the web site by taking the time to comment on individual web posts.
In the Future:
- If I get a current membership list, I will post an online directory that will be password protected.
- New information pages can be added to the top.
If you wish to be a site administrator, let me know ASAP. As of now, I have set up President Jim Mohrman, Secretary Brian Kohlberg, and myself as Site Administrators. (Brian and Jim, I will be sending you separate emails.)
If you have any comments, suggestions, or ideas, just email me back, comment on this post, or call.
Thank you,
Karl
